Doodles at Dinner

I couldn't resist these tear-off placemats, on display at the Golden Eagle the other day. I will use them the next time I serve particularly messy (ribs? lobster?) dinner party food, and make sure to put crayons on the table so that everyone can doodle while we have coffee and cookies.

Wish You Were Here

I realized when I got home from the city that I had forgotten to pick up postcards to send to the children (who are away at camp). Luckily, I found these vintage New York City cards at The Golden Eagle (14 Ginger- bread Lane, Easthampton; 631-324-0603) this morning. Hope they don't notice the Sag Harbor postmark.

Sag Harbor Origami

I stopped at the Golden Eagle in East Hampton (14 Gingerbread Lane; 631-324-0603) and was mesmerized by the beautiful paper they were selling. So I bought two sheets and made these origami whales. For directions, go to www.origami-instructions.com
